Acceptable use policy
waca.ai is for conversations people want. No spam, real consent, TRAI and DLT rules, sensible calling hours, and a short list of things you can’t use it for.
1. No spam
- Message and call only people who gave you their number and agreed to hear from you about this kind of thing.
- Don’t use bought, rented, scraped or shared lists, or numbers collected for a different purpose.
- Don’t send bulk messages that people haven’t asked for, “blast” every contact, or rotate numbers to avoid blocks and quality ratings.
2. Consent and opt-outs
- Collect clear, specific consent and keep a record of it (waca.ai stores the source, time and channel for each customer).
- Make it easy to stop: honour “STOP”, “unsubscribe”, “band karo” and similar replies at once. waca.ai stops messages and calls automatically when it detects an opt-out — don’t work around it.
- Promotional messages need opt-in; order updates and reminders must relate to something the customer actually did.
3. TRAI rules, DLT and DND
- Follow the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2018 (TCCCPR) and TRAI’s directions under them.
- Register your business, headers, SMS templates and consent templates on a DLT platform, and use only registered headers and templates.
- Don’t send promotional calls or SMS to numbers on the National Customer Preference Register (DND) unless the person gave you explicit consent. waca.ai checks the DND list you provide; you remain responsible.
- Use only the numbers and series assigned for commercial calling (for example 140-series for promotional and 160-series for transactional and service calls, as TRAI requires).
4. Calling hours and behaviour
- Make promotional calls only between 9 am and 9 pm in the customer’s local time. waca.ai’s calling window defaults to these hours and queues calls outside them.
- Don’t call the same person again and again after they say no or don’t answer — keep retries few and spaced out.
- Collections and reminders must follow the RBI fair-practices code where it applies: no threats, abuse, shaming, or calls to family and friends.
5. Be honest about AI and recording
Say near the start of a call that the caller is speaking with an AI assistant and that the call may be recorded (waca.ai plays a disclosure you can edit). Never let an agent pretend to be a specific real person, a government body or a bank you are not.
6. Prohibited businesses and content
You may not use waca.ai for:
- gambling, betting, fantasy games for money or lotteries not allowed under Indian law;
- adult or sexual content, dating or escort services;
- weapons, explosives, drugs, tobacco or alcohol where advertising them is restricted, and prescription medicines without a licence;
- crypto, forex, “guaranteed return” or other investment schemes, unregistered lending or loan apps, and multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes;
- fake, counterfeit or illegal products and services, and anything that breaks WhatsApp’s Commerce Policy;
- phishing, OTP or KYC fraud, impersonation, malware or collecting passwords and card details;
- hate speech, harassment, threats, misinformation, or political campaign messaging that doesn’t follow election law and the Election Commission’s rules;
- messaging or calling children, or collecting their data, without verifiable parental consent.
7. Platform rules
Follow WhatsApp’s Business and Commerce policies, Meta’s template guidelines and your telecom operator’s terms. Don’t try to break into, overload or reverse engineer waca.ai, share logins, or resell access without an agency agreement.
8. What happens if this policy is broken
We may pause campaigns, live messaging or calling, remove content, or suspend the account — straight away when people or the platform are at risk — and we may report illegal activity to the authorities. Where we can, we will tell you first and help you fix it. Repeated or serious breaches can end the agreement.
